Michael King is the founder and president of Longleaf Consultants, LLC. A human resource and professional leadership development company providing a wide spectrum of consultation, strategies, tools and services for enhancing organizational human capital performance. He is a Society of Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) A senior level who operate primarily in a strategic role—developing policies and strategies, overseeing the execution of HR operations, analyzing performance metrics, and/or contributing to the alignment of HR strategies to organizational goals for various organizations. His company also derives from 35 years of providing both universal and global human resources best practices from various military assignments and working in the private sector. He has guided Longleaf Consultants, LLC to be a leading provider of global human resources enabling the organizations to gain their competitive edge by developing or enhancing their global mindset. Mr. King also serves as a leadership consultant, lecturer, and advisor to both public and private sector clients. While serving on active duty, he held many key human resource leadership positions with the following agencies: Department of State, Joint Chiefs of Staff, Department of Defense, Department of the Air Force, Department of Army, United States Central Command, US Postal Service, and Presidential Inaugural Committee. In these roles, he was responsible for the agile execution of global human resource management and leadership development services to over 40,000 military and federal civilian employees worldwide.
Mr. King worked for several governmental agencies/departments before retiring in 2014. He held progressive levels of responsibility with each of the agencies. He has epitomized leadership theories, people management techniques, influence and persuasion techniques, as well as trust and relationship-building techniques. He holds a Master’s in Business Administration with Human Resources concentration and a Bachelors in Psychology. He holds a national teacher’s certification with Air University. He is also a SHRM-SCP subject matter expert (SME).
